Intro
What is this all about and who in the name of God is this Mr. Little anyway?
The idea to create my own blog came rather suddenly and rather unexpectedly and neither planned nor thought through. My wife has also already the worst fears, because she knows exactly that I do not do things by halves and will most likely spend more time than is right for her.
Nevertheless, I will start the experiment and see what happens.
I owe Mr. Little more or less to my colleagues at work, because in a proper American tech company it is customary that everyone has a nickname that is as catchy as possible and understandable for everyone. In fact, there are worse things, so you get used to everything. Accordingly, you can dvhon guess what I do professional and what in the end was also a reason why I have decided with my last company car order for a Q4 40 e-tron. Before the pandemic, which has now lasted a good 2 years, I have combined professional and private between 50,000 & 55,000km a year across Germany gedieselt. With an EV rather unrealistic or only associated with considerable pain, but this form of working will no longer exist for me. The new work model is called hybrid or flexible working. Accordingly, many on-site appointments will take place via Zoom & Co. in the future. This situation and the green vision of my employer have massively accelerated a change to an EV.
Thus, in the summer of 2021, it was clear that the BMW 520D Touring was your last diesel company car and yes, Family Little will travel fully electronically in the future. But which manufacturer should it be? Automatically, the first thing that comes to mind is the market leader with the big red T. But hey, we are a classic family with two kids and two dogs. We will hardly all fit into a TM3 and an MX is not quite in our league in terms of price. But at that time it was already clear, in Brandenburg/ Grünheide should be built from late summer 2021 the family-friendly MY. My modified car policy even foresaw Tesla to folders, but quickly it was clear, even for this my leasing budget is unfortunately not enough. Since I am now times a small IT nerd and technikverliebt, such an innovative SW based unit on four wheels would have been super exciting, but whether punkto quality etc. is such a move of Audi and BMW now not simply times so made. After all, one has become accustomed to certain things and does not like to give them away again.
ID.4 GTX or Skoda Enyag 80x could be a real alternative, but Audi should also come up with something. Yes, the affordable e-tron for everyone should be called Q4 and based on the group's MEB platform. So in principle the same car, technology and drive are almost identical. But who does what better or differently? Which EV do we like best? All questions that could only be answered by a visit to the Audi / VW and Skoda dealer. And what can I tell you, we were not even really in the showroom of the nearby Audi dealership and there it was already about us. That I agree with my wife so quickly was extremely unexpected, which was reason enough for me on the same day to study the Audi configurator for all conceivable features, combinations and optional extras.
In the end it was a "Q4 40 e-tron" as Edition One in taupe with full equipment (ex. AHK).
Everything else, such as the exact configuration and a visual pre-taste follows on the pages.
